BARGE HIRE
We’ll have the flexibility to cater to a wide range of marine-based commercial and residential works. Our 10m barge is available for wet or dry hire, as is our mini excavator and fully qualified dive teams.
SALVAGES
Our highly experienced commercial divers specialise in underwater and marine-based salvage including sunken vessels and structures. From cyclone damaged marina repairs to salvaging fully submerged vessels we have the expertise to lead your salvage operation.
CANAL MAINTENANCE
Our 40sqm barge and mini excavator is the ideal work platform for hard-to- reach canal maintenance such as pontoon/jetty maintenance, dredging, collapsed rock/block wall structures, retaining wall re-builds, pylon maintenance and construction, debris recovery and weed management.

ROCK WALLS
We work with a team of sub contractors across a variety of marine-based rock, timber and block wall construction, demolition and maintenance. Together we can provide advice and expertise across a range of retaining walls that are either underwater, submerged or only accessible by water.

BRIDGES
Co-owner Ian Michael has more than 15 years’ experience in all facets of bridge demolition and maintenance across South–East Queensland including works for Main Roads and various councils. From dismantling over-water walkways to large road bridges or those only accessible by water, Sunshine Coast Barges can assist in small or large residential and commercial bridge demolition or reconstruction.
COMMERCIAL DIVING
Our dive teams are lead by our co-owner Oliver Fink, who is a former Navy Clearance diver, having served in Iraq and Afghanistan, with commercial diving roles in Singapore, America, Asia and Australia. Most of our commercial divers are ex-military and are trained to the highest standards and compliant with OH&S as per AS2299. We can dive to 54m and perform a range of marine-based drilling, cutting, maintenance and recovery works plus more.

MORE ABOUT SUNSHINE COAST BARGES
Sunshine Coast Barges is the brainchild of owner/operators Ian Michael and Oliver Fink. In a bid to provide a solution to the growing demand of marine and water-based construction and maintenance, together they’ve drawn on more than 50 years’ experience in excavation and diving know-how to bring Sunshine Coast Barges to life.
The company comprises a fully compliant and engineered 10m barge and operations platform combined with a mini excavator and experienced dive team to solve a large array of marine-based and underwater demolition and maintenance projects.
Oliver leads up all underwater operations with a team of experienced divers. As a former Navy Clearance diver who served in Iraq and Afghanistan, Oliver has been a commercial diver in Singapore, America, Asia and Australia. He and the team of commercial divers, who are mostly ex-military, are trained to the absolute highest standard to ensure all residential and commercial projects are skilfully executed to best practice.
Ian draws on more than 35 years’ experience in earthworks and excavations specialising in government bridge demolition and maintenance, to provide all onboard operations. Working from the barge platform from his 5.5t excavator he uses a range of attachments such as hydraulic auger drivers and buckets to cater all marine-based work requirements. Specialising in demolition and salvage, he brings residential and large commercial expertise to the Sunshine Coast Barges team.
